Sonic Syndicate is a band from Falkenberg, Sweden. They were formerly influenced by Swedish melodic death metal bands such as In Flames and Soilwork and American metalcore bands like Killswitch Engage and All That Remains.. The band was founded in 2002 by brothers and songwriters Richard and Roger Sjunnesson (screamed vocals and guitars respectively) with their younger cousin Robin Sjunnesson (guitars) under the name Fallen Angels. They switched to Sonic Syndicate in 2004. The "classic" line-up from 2006 to 2009 included the Sjunnessons with Roland Johansson (clean vocals), Karin Axelsson (bass guitar) and John Bengtsson (drums). Today the band consists of Robin (now the only original member) alongside British singer Nathan J. Biggs, bass player Michel Bärzén and drummer Peter Wallenäs. Since their fourth album We Rule the Night their sound has slowly shifted away from metal and towards a pop rock style.
