This is my first submitted tab, I hope it works for you guys
d- downstroke
u- upstroke
The change from down to up is really quick, it adds a
flare to the song though the song can be played without it.
It is possible to do these quick changes as hammer-ons and pull offs
though I am pretty sure Cake doesn't play it like that from the recording.
Also the change in the fourth set of strokes can be replaced
by just hitting the open E string though you will have to mute
the B string
Ok here is the basic format of the song for intro, verse
and chorus as far as I can tell there are no real variations
[d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud]
[d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud]
[d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [d] [dud]
on the aaaaalways be waaaaitng part just repeat the last 4 chord sets.
TIMING
Here is a sample verse. I only wrote out the words
on which the chords change. For simplicity's sake I did
not record the quick changes.
So............. important.........think that we make
sense.......... think there's....better
other fence
Now what I wrote down was the simple version. Cake's guitarist
actually does a hammer on and a pull off on some of them
Enjoy!
