Intro: C (and between Part 1 and 2)
1.
[C]love is a di[Em]sease
it infe[Am]cts what you believe about your[F]self and the others you need
and lov[C]e is not kind it won't s[Em]mile and it won't shine
it isn't t[Am]here when you need it. you can't [F]save it and you can't delete it
and love is [C]cruel and unforgiving and love is [Em]usually unwilling
to give you [Am]back what you've been building it will scorch the [F]earth just cos you're tilling it
and like a c[C]at you've been petting, for every [Em]day and every single week,
but when you n[Am]eed it and when you're feeling weak all it really [F]wants to do is fall asleep
because love is [C]vicious and love is spiteful but love a[Em]lso just doesn't care
so you can [Am]fight it but when you strike at it it'll just [F]vanish like it was never there
but be[C]lieve me it's still there, not in your s[Em]hoes or heart or hair
cos i've looked in [Am]all the obvious places and still haven't f[F]ound it anywhere
but when i f[C]ind it i will kill it, so that i can [Em]get on with my life
and regain com[Am]posure of my posture and control of the t[F]houghts in my own mind
because l[G]ove [Am] will break you apa[F]rt.
2.
but now h[C]ate is accessible and jea[Em]lousy is free
[Am] bitterness is easy and blame comes even [F]easier for me.
And l[C]ust is a game that you [Em]always will lose
but who minds l[Am]osing when each level has new conte[F]stants for you to choose
and you can yell out [C]Okay i'm finished, now i[Em] want to win!
well too bad cos w[Am]inning's not up to you, all you can [F]do is choose when to begin
to start [C]losing something different shaped [Em]vaguely like pride
but much [Am]bigger and much heavier and much much [F]easier to find
and once you [C]give that away you will k[Em]now
by the s[Am]ickness in your stomach and the n[F]umbness in your toes
because [G]love [Am] will break you ap[F]art
and [G]love [Am] will break you ap[F]art
[G]love [Am] will break you ap[F]art
[G]love [F]is hard. [C]
