Step In, Step Out
by Weddings, Parties, Anything
Words and Music by Michael Thomas

Note: For those of you who aren't aware, Weddings are an Australian
folk/rock group
whose first album was released in 1987 (they've since made another 6 - all
big sellers in Australia). Probably their biggest claim to fame is that
they're reportedly U2's favourite group. This song is from "Difficult Loves"
Playing Notes: This is just a simple strum in 4/4. The only 'different
chord' is the
D/F# bass with the F# being played in the 4th string. Tempo is sort of
country-ish.
[G]In the [D]morning when from [A]slumber you [D]awake
[G]Find me [D]sleeping like a [F#m]baby by your [A]side
Get [G]up, get off to [D]work
'Cause there are [A]cakes that must be [D]baked
But if there's [G]things that I must [D]do
I'd sooner [A]let them slide
Chorus:
And you step [Bm]out,[A] when I step [Bm]in[A]
It is a [G]dance that is bi[D]zarre
It is a [A]dance that's wearing [D]thin
And you step [Bm]in, [A] when I step [Bm]out[A]
Though we can't [G]find the time for [D]talking
Seems we [A]find the time to [G]shou[D/F#]t[A]
[G]And late at [D]night when I come [A]fumbling for my [D]keys
[G]The house is [D]dark and all is [F#m]quiet[A]
[G]Get into [D]bed it is so [A]hard for me to [D]please
You're barely [G]hours away from [D]work
And you're so [A]tired
Chorus:
And you step [Bm]out,[A] when I step [Bm]in [A]
It is a [G]dance that is [D]bizarre
It is a [A]dance that's wearing [D]thin
And you step [Bm]in, [A] when I step [Bm]out[A]
Though we can't [G]find the time for [D]talking
Seems we [A]find the time to [G]sho[D/F#]ut[A]
Some [G]people pray for [D]rain
Some people [A]pray for [D]holidays
Some [G]people pray for [D]money without [F#m]swelte[A]r
But [G]we just pray for [D]two shifts
At the [A]same end of the [D]day
And a [G]life that is not [D]quite so helter [A]skelter
Chorus:
And you step [Bm]out,[A] when I step [Bm]in [A]
It is a [G]dance that is [D]bizarre
It is a [A]dance that's wearing [D]thin
And you step [Bm]in, [A] when I step [Bm]out[A]
Though we can't [G]find the time for [D]talking
Seems we [A]find the time to [G]sho[D/F#]ut[A]
[G]You [D/F#]and me[A], oh we've been living in different worlds
||: Bm A :|| Repeat to fade
End on Bm
