Nothing Ever Happens - Del Amitri
--------------------
[F]Post office clerks put up signs saying position cl[Dm]osed
[F]And secretaries turn off typewriters and put on their c[Dm]oats
J[Bb]anitors padlock the g[F]ates
[Gm] [Bb]
For se[C]curity guards to patr[Bb]ol
And b[Bb]achelors phone up their fr[F]iends for a drink
[Gm] [Bb]
While the ma[C]rried ones turn on a cha[Bb]t show
[F] [Gm] [F]
And the[F]y'll all be lonely toni[Bb]ght and lonely tomo[F]rrow
(snip)
N[F]othing ever h[Bb]appens, n[F]othing happens at [Bb]all
The n[Dm]eedle returns to the st[Bb]art of the song
And we [C]all sing along like bef[Bb]ore
[F] [Gm] [F]
And we'll a[F]ll be lonely toni[Bb]ght and lonely tomo[F]rrow
Then before verse 4 there's a wee instrumentally bit over the chords:
[Gm] [Dm] [Gm] [Dm] [G] [F] [G] [F]
Also, there's a second guitar with capo on the 5th fret playing:
Verse: C Am C Am F C G F C G F (C F C)
Chorus: C F C F Am F G F C F C
Instr: Dm Am Dm Am D C D C
Hope this is of some use, and not too wrong.

From: Dan Rolander ll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow
Notes: This song is very easy to play and to sing.
It seems to be a good stuff to learn to change between the basic chords.
In the last verse the second and the third line seems strange to the metre.
Listen carefully to the song. It will be clear if you heard it.
(I have transcribed the song because I missed it on OLGA. I think, it is a very nice song
to sing, when you are sitting on a nice and warm summer evening with some fine people
on the beach, staring at the fire and feel good. Dream on...;))
Have fun and greetings from Germany
