The Knack
Maybe Tonight (1978)
(Doug Fieger)
From: "Get the Knack"
I have always liked this beautiful song!
When I sat down to transcribe it I noticed that there is something strange
about the A-chord in the verses: If my ears don?t deceive me, the rhythm
guitar plays a major chord in the first half and a minor in the second. In
the second verse the lead guitar even plays a minor line (starting off from
a ?c?) over this major chord, thus creating a strange tension there. The
solo on the other hand (which uses the verse structure) has Am both times,
I think. If you don?t hear it that way, just use Am throughout in the
verses. Comments are highly welcome!
