The intro sounds like it's just the bass playing, but it may be
doubled by a clean guitar playing this:
Then a slightly distorted guitar comes in playing this:
Then the clean guitar hits this chord and fades into the drums:
[E---]
[B---]
[G---]
[D---]
[A-3-]
[E-3-]
Then repeat the above; the second guitar comes in at the same time as above.
The first guitar does this a beat before:
[E-----]
[B-----]
[G-(5)-]
[D-----]
[A-----]
[E-----]
After the first verse, play this:
Then repeat the verse and the bridge above. On the second bridge, play it
this way, turning heavy distortion on right before hitting the C power chord:
Let the chord fade, then turn distortion off and play this 4x:
Then switch on the heavy distortion and play this:
Then end with:
[E-2-]
[B-3-]
[G-2-]D-0-
[A---]
[E---]
And let it fade; at this point, a guitar (I believe it's a different
guitar) plays something I'm not exactly sure about, with some cool
string bending. It sounds sort of like this:
A-17r16-17/19b21b22r21r19-\17-
Let me explain this; first of all, let the note sustains the whole
8-count. Play this by placing your ring finger on the 16th fret and
beginning in bent position so that the tone of the 17th fret sounds,
then slowly and steadily release the string so that the 16th fret
sounds. Then quickly slide up to the 19th fret with the ring finger
and slowly bend the string up to the 22nd fret, then release it to
the 19th again. All this should be done with mild distortion and
the rhythm pickup (neck pickup for all you non-LPers) on.
Then play the clean and distorted parts again and end on the D/B
power chord.
That's all for the song. Have fun playing it; I apologize for the
difficult fingerings, but you'll have to take that up with Doug.
