Another One In The Dark
(words & music by Jakob Dylan)
I have grossly misinterpreted the lyrics as you will soon see. If anyone has
any idea on some of the lyrical mumbling, can you please email me. Anyway:
CAPO ON THE 2ND FRET (or play each chord a whole step up-I highly recommend
capoing, though):
Another thing is that the Bm riff is just Bm played staccato eight times, if
you know the song, you will know what I am talking about. The reason why it
does not sound like the Bm chord playing over and over is because the
bassline walks up the C# minor scale. (Remember when you play Bm with a capo
on the second fret, you are really playing C#m). Okay:
Intro: D G D G D G D G
[D]Took em high, took em straight [G]up the hill
[D]You wanted it all, gave em [G]such a pill
[D]Their parades, we stole [G]every thrill
[D]In their games, we made [G]every kill
D Daug D6 G
[D]Took em hard, took em [G]up against the wall
[D]In their loss, you never [G]let them fall
[D]In their flames, sailed up [G]to the moon
[D]In their rain, they dry like [G]firewood
D Daug
So the bottom, five beers
As the [D6]girl might just disap[G]pear
Well that will be the [D]death of me
The day she~s just a [A]memory
[Bm] [Bm-A-G] [Bm] [Bm-A-G]
Bm riff
Well she turned off the lights and she opened the whites
In my [G]eyes, another one in the [D]dark
[F#m]Broken all a[Bm]part
Just a[A]nother one in the [G]dark
A Aaug
When the [D]road rolled on like a [G]big drum
Went [D]to the top just to bud [G]everyone
[D]Wanted to win, tie yourself with a string, and steal [G]everything
You took em [D]skin on skin, laid em down [G]in the rain
D Daug
So I swear we~re a pair
Like [D6]loneliness and a [G]prayer
No I~m [D]not the be, may still mean [A]me
[Bm] [Bm-A-G] [Bm] [Bm-A-G]
Bm riff
Well she turned off the lights and she opened the whites
In my [G]eyes, another one in the [D]dark
[F#m]Broken from the [Bm]start
Just a[A]nother one in the [G]dark
A Aaug
[D] [G] [D] [G] [D] [G] [D] [G]
In their [D]nights, rayed out with the [G]loud screen
Or [D]in their sleep, we~re all inside[G] every dream
D Daug
So if you trying to break me
C~[D6]mon, why don~t you [G]shake me
Right out of my [D]dream
The one that you and [A]me, me...
[Bm]Woooa[Bm-A-G]ahhh... [Bm]Heeyy[Bm-A-G]yy.....
Bm riff
Well she sang out of tune when she shot down the moon
As I [G]saw my arteries down on dividers
Bm riff
And I was here at the Hoot, between the cup and the loot
As I [G]strut down under the lightening love
Bm riff
As she cut all the strings that I tied to her wings
Leaving [G]me... in the [D]dark
[F#m]Still just be a[Bm]part
And she [A]never see me at [G]all
A Aaug
D G D G...
