So I hois[C]ted up a barrel and [G]secured a rope be[D]low
But in [C]me haste to [G]do the job, I was [D]to blind to s[C]ee
That a ba[G]rrel full of bui[C]lding bricks was hea[D]vier than [G]me
[G]And so when I untied the rope the ba[D]rrel fell like l[G]ead
And cli[C]nging tightly to t[G]he rope I started [D]up instead
I sho[C]t up like a r[G]ocket, and to my dis[D]may I f[C]ound
That ha[G]lfway up I m[C]et the bloody ba[D]rrel coming d[G]own
[G]Well the barrel broke me shoulder [D]as to the ground it s[G]ped
And w[C]hen I reached the top [G]I banged the pulley w[D]ith me head
But I c[C]lung on tightly nu[G]mb with shock from t[D]his almighty b[C]low
While the ba[G]rrel spilled out h[C]alf it's bricks some fou[D]rteen floors be[G]low
[G]When these bricks had fallen from the ba[D]rrel to the fl[G]oor
I th[C]en outweighed the ba[G]rrel and so sta[D]rted down once more
But I cl[C]ung on tightly to t[G]he rope me b[D]ody racked with p[C]ain
And ha[G]lfway down I [C]met the bloody ba[D]rrel once ag[G]ain
[G]Now the force of this collision halfway d[D]own the office bl[G]ock
Caused mul[C]tiple abra[G]sions and a nasty[D] case of shock
But I cl[C]ung on tightly to t[G]he rope as I f[D]ell towards the gro[C]und
And I la[G]nded on the br[C]oken bricks the ba[D]rrel had scattered ro[G]und.
