[G]
In the sh[G]adows, in the bushes,
in the sp[C]ace between the le[G]aves
A sp[C]ider in a th[G]icket
cr[D]awled up on my k[G]nee
I put my gl[G]oves on, put my hat on,
and I r[C]an from the tr[G]ees
But that l[C]ittle black sp[G]ider
came a-cr[D]awling after [G]me
From the sh[C]adows in the b[G]ushes,
in the sp[C]ace between the le[G]aves
A l[C]ittle black sp[G]ider
came a-cr[D]awling home with [G]me
It cr[G]awled across my window
as I l[C]ay me down to sl[G]eep
In the m[C]orning on my p[G]illow
it w[D]aited patient[G]ly
And th[G]en came the ants,
the fr[C]ogs and the sn[G]akes
Sl[C]ithering and sl[G]iding
th[D]rough my clean white sh[G]eets
R[C]ustling from the b[G]ushes,
cr[C]eeping from the le[G]aves
[C]Every awful cr[G]eature
came a-cr[D]awling over m[G]e
[G] [C] [G] [C] [G] [D] [G]
I c[G]rushed them and killed them,
but they c[C]ame all the m[G]ore
So I r[C]an in my n[G]ightshirt
o[D]ut onto the l[G]awn
But I tr[G]ipped upon a tree root
and they sw[C]armed from the we[G]eds
A m[C]illion little te[G]eth
t[D]ore me to p[G]ieces
In the sh[C]adows of the th[G]icket
r[C]ain poured through the le[G]aves
And I was sc[C]attered in the m[G]ud
ben[D]eath the dripping tr[G]ees
But from h[G]ere and from there,
from [C]every dir[G]ection
L[C]ittle voices s[G]ang
[D]under twigs and m[G]osses
And I sw[G]armed and I gathered
[C]under logs and le[G]aves
I cr[C]awled and I sl[G]ithered
[D]under rotting tr[G]ees
In the t[C]angle of the b[G]ushes,
undern[C]eath the wet le[G]aves
I am m[C]any and n[G]othing
and I cr[D]awl up on your kn[G]ee
In the t[C]angle of the b[G]ushes,
undern[C]eath the wet le[G]aves
I am m[C]any and n[G]othing
