Seashell from the album Naive
WRITTEN BY MICKY BRAUN AND DUSTIN WELCH
I saw the other tab on here for this and while I like it, I wanted to play in key with the song,
so here's what I got. I think it's pretty accurate. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do, it's a great
song.
- To play the [C] walk to [Am]: hit the 5th string 3rd fret (top note of [C]) then 5th string 2nd fret
then hit the open 5th string with hand in [Am]
- I haven't tabbed the solo yet, but it's mostly variations of the 2nd & 3rd fret of the bottom two
strings from what I've got so far, will try and get it here soon
- The song sounds best if you pick the chords not strum them
Capo 4
-Verse 1-
[C]
WE DON'T EVER REALLY TALK
[G] [F]
AND I GUESS THAT'S ALRIGHT WITH ME
[C]
A SEASHELL SITS ON TOP [A] ROCK
[G] [F]
YOU KNOW THAT'S WHERE I HIDE MY KEY
-Chorus-
[C] walk to [Am] [C]
COME THE LIGHT OF DAY
[Am] [G [F]
I WATCH YOU TAKE YOUR THINGS AND GO
[Am] [G] [C]
AND I CAN'T HARDLY SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT ANYMORE
-Verse 2-
[C]
YOU WORK HARD AND YOU GET BY
[G] [F]
BUT YOU NEVER CAN QUITE GET AHEAD
[C]
BUT SOME HOW HERE IN MY ARMS
[G] [F]
YOU EASE YOUR MIND AND REST YOUR HEAD
[Am] [C]
COME THE LIGHT OF DAY
[Am] [G] [F]
I WATCH YOU TAKE YOUR THINGS AND GO
[Am] [G] [C]
AND I CAN'T HARDLY SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT ANYMORE
-Instrumental solo- (in lieu of the tab, these chords work pretty well)
[C] (hammering on/off pinky 1st string 3rd fret) [G] [C], [C] (hammering) [G] [F] --- play this twice
[C] walk to [Am] [C], [Am] [G] [F], [Am] [G] [C]
-Bridge-
[F] [C]
AS I LAY HERE WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING SOUND
[F] [C]
I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF THIS IS THE LAST TIME
[G]
YOU'LL COME AROUND
[C]
MAYBE I SHOULD KNOW BETTER
[G] [F]
IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER AT ALL
[C]
I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR THE DOOR KNOB TURN
[G] [F]
YOUR FOOTSTEPS SOFTLY DOWN THE HALL
[Am] [C]
COME THE LIGHT OF DAY
[Am] [G] [F]
I WATCH YOU TAKE YOUR THINGS AND GO
[Am] [G] [C]
AND I CAN'T HARDLY SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT ANYMORE
[C] walk to [Am] [G] [C]
NO I CAN'T HARDLY SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT ANYMORE
-Outro-
Played the same as the Instrumental above but add [C] walk to [Am] [G] [C] to the very end
