I've [C]got a sister Meghan
with a [D]Celtic cross tattoo
I'll [C]tell you a few stories
and every o[G]ne of them is [D]true
[[CHORUS]]
[C]My mother's, brother's, s[D]ister's, cousin's, auntie's
Uncle B[C]arney's, father's, brother had a c[D]ounsin from K[G]illarney
[ Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/g/gaelic_storm/raised_on_black_and_tans_crd.html ]
[G]Well my great-grandda, and his mates
they tried to [D]make it to the S[G]tates
[G]his great uncle, he was a failure
he got de[D]ported off to Aust[G]ralia
so they [C]stowed upon a steamer
on the [D]famous White Star Line
I was [C]raised upon these stories
since i [G]was the age of [D]nine
[[CHORUS]]
[G]Well my great uncle, he liked the races
he liked the [D]dogs and steeplec[G]hases
[G]his wife, my dear old auntie
she kept a [D]teashop way, way down in [G]Bantry
but he f[C]ixed a race in Donegal
and [D]now he's got to hide
with the [C]sticky buns and cakes and guns
and [G]whiskey on the [D]side
[[CHORUS]]
[G]I was raised on Black and Tans
with Ronnie [D]Drew and Van the[G] Man
[G]I go to mass on Sunday
and the it's [D]back to the pub on M[G]onday
I'm from the [C]wrong side of the south side
of an I[D]rish neighborhood
I've [C]never been to Ireland
but I [G]know it's in my b[D]lood
