This is the version from the re-issue of "Waylon Live," the 1976 album, which
is now available on CD... Thanks, Buddha Records :-)
The version on the new CD, "Never Say Die - LIVE," is pretty much the same as
this one, except for a few small changes to the lyrics and for members of the
band doing some of the singing. I'm not sure of the key of the original (from
the "Ladies Love Outlaws" LP, which is a part of Bear Family's "The Journey:
Six Strings Away" box set); I've never checked it.
VERSE ONE:
[/]Well, I've never been to [G]Spain, but I kinda like the mu[D]sic
[(D)]They say the ladies are i[G]nsane there, and they sure know how to u[D]se it
You can't [A]refuse it, can't m[G]isuse it
Ain't ever gonna lose i[D]t
VERSE TWO:
Well, I've never been to England, but I've always liked the Beatles
I was headed for Las Vegas, but only made it out to Needles
Can't you feel it? You must believe it
'Cos it feels so good
CHORUS:
Well, I've never been to Heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma
People tell me I was born there, but I really don't remember
Well, Oklahoma, Arizona
What do it matter?
INSTRUMENTAL stuff...
REPEAT VERSE ONE (but a "D" at the beginning instead of nothing)
