I've divided this lesson into two parts. Beginner Lesson and Reminder chords. The

This song is a little difficult to explain in writing. It's best to have an audio
version of the song and campare notes. It's not going to be perfect but it's a
good hit and the orginal.
For the astrick marked chords, these are played like the chart below.
The D is technically a Dadd9.
To mute the strings on D and A simply put your index finger across the fifth fret.

Intro: (The riff is pretty much the second part of the intro or the up down
strumming intro. Read below.)
Strumming is simply a down stroke with some palm muting. It's best to compare
with the song itself.
The first part is to play D and to use your pinky and hit the G string and move up the fret.
the second part is to play A and use your pinky and hit the D string and move up the fret.
Lasty hit hit G. I personally like to hit the third fret and move to fourth to
give it a little more sound. That's how Keith does it with the G - G.
It's hard to explain in writing.
That's half of the intro. Repeat what you did but this time the struming has
changed to an up down stroke. It's a very easy song to learn strumming wise until
the chorus.
