I was messing around on youtube when I found Dave playing
an acoustic version of the song.
Basically it's the same chords he uses
in the album version but I quess there's also a
second guitar in it. Figured out the chords
by listening to the song and watching the video.
Listen to the song for the correct strumming.
Tuning: standard Capo 1st fret
Chords used: A F#m E D
Verse:
It se[A]ems like you're doing be[F#m]tter these days
even [A]though things are fallin[F#m]g apart
I kno[A]w it's brutal working mi[F#m]nimum wage
It's [E]like you're finished befo[D]re you start
Things got ugly for a while back there
I know I thought that you wouldn't pull through
Late at night when the phone would ring
There's no telling what you would do
Sometimes we'd yell and mad as hell
Sometimes we'd act like we didn't care
Some of our love was just suffocating
It left you turning blue and gasping for air
Chorus:
[F#m]C'mon kid, c'm[D]on, it's one [A]foot and then the [E]other
[F#m]Everybody need[D]s a hand some[A]times everybody ne[E]eds a brother
[F#m]C'mon kid, c'm[D]on, I'm reach[A]ing out to you[E]
[F#m]Get out of bed[D], kid face th[A]e world, and show [E]us what you can do
Verse:
I'm s[A]orry I was always cas[F#m]ting stones
Like [A]my glass house couldn[F#m]'t be smashed
I spe[A]nt as many night as w[F#m]ild as a lion
I was[E] lucky that I never cr[D]ashed
Look, I've never really been no angel
I see a lot of myself in you
This little town can feel a lot like prison
And angry young men always have something to prove
(yeah we always got something to prove)
Chorus
Bridge:
I k[D]now you ended up [A]with bills to pay
I k[E]now she promised [A]you that she would stay
I k[D]now they told you[A] he died for your sins
And[E] he's the only wa[A]y
I know it caught you by surprise
I got a call that you almost died
Second chances are a crime to waste
[E]So don't let time decide, don't let time decide ([D]Heeeeey)
Chorus
Ending:
[A]C'mon kid, c[F#m]'mon[A][F#m]
[A]C'mon kid, c[F#m]'mon
[E](yeeaaah ye[D]aaah)
[A]C'mon kid, c[F#m]'mon[A][F#m]
[A]c'mon kid, c[F#m]'mon
[E]And show us [D]what you can do
(you can repeat this like forever or let it fade out but end it with:)
[A]C'mon kid, c'mon
That's it, the song is really fun to play. For any suggestions just send me an email.
