Album: Chemical City
Song: A Stone Would Cry Out
Tabbed by: Bashu Naimi-Roy
I love this song, and nobody has ever posted a tab or chords for it as far as I know
(there is sheetmusic I believe). So I sat down at my piano and figgered out the chords.
It should sound fine on guitar, but if you want to do all the neat basslines and fills
and riffs that he does (good luck) you'll have to do it yourself. Enjoy!
D Daug5 D6, A C#m, B
[D]The cinematic after eff[A]ects of a[C#m]lcohol
[B]Have led me to believe
[D]That there's nothing more b[A]eautiful[C#m]
Than a f[B]ace as it starts to fade
From your mem[D]ory, what had O[A]nce been cl[C#m]ear as the day
[B]Obscured by the shade
And I was [D]always the th[A]or[A#]n to your ro[B]se[F]
Verse 2 (same as verse 1):
A long string of disappointing days
Led me to concede that I'd been losing sleep
And I'm tired and frayed at the seams
And things are changing in me
It's been two hard months since I could call you my own
It cuts to the bone
Is there anything that I can do when I've been turned into stone?
But I was a[D]lways the th[A]or[A]n [A#]to your r[B]ose[F]
[D]Some d[A]oors are be[Bm]tter left cl[F]osed
[Bm]You[D] move like a rolling w[D]ave
[Bm]One[D] that don't fade when it's go[G]ne
[G]Beyond a doubt it gets so hard that a st[G]on[D]e would cry out
[D] [A] [A] [A#] [B]
Verse 3(same as verse 1):
I know there's a lesson in here
But it's so hard to find
I've been searching my mind
A little pearl of wisdom for the later years
When the thread of this life starts to unwind
I never had to fight for my love
But that's over I know
It's just how it goes
I never had to fight for my love
But that's over I know
It's just how it goes
[Bm]And[D] you move like a rolling w[D]ave
[Bm]One[D] that don't fade when it's go[G]ne
[G]Beyond a doubt it gets so hard, it g[G]ets so hard
[G]Th[D]at a stone would cry out
[D]Some do[A]ors are b[Bm]etter left c[G]losed
Some s[D]ay this pl[Bb]ace makes it [F]hard to hold your h[G]ead up
Some d[D]ays this f[Bb]ace makes me [F]feel like I've been[G] set up
