Dear Bradenton
You have b[D]een good to me
You k[Em]ept your word
And got me through these ye[G]ars
A[C]ll I ask is that you'll be th[D]ere
When I return[C][D][Em]
From Anna's Isle to Lakewood's fi[G]elds
This is our t[C]own
This is w[D]ho we're meant to be
This is our t[Em]own
Where our r[G]oots have grown so deep
This is our t[C]own
This is w[D]here we're meant to be
This is our t[Em]own
We'll keep c[G]oming back because
D[C]ear Bradenton
As the c[D]ity sleeps the night
You fo[Em]und us hiding out
Under p[G]arking garage lights
And you k[C]now, you know you'll find us h[D]ere
When we return
[C] [D]
[Em] [G]
[C] [D]
(What are we running for?)
[Em] [G]
(What are we running for?)
[C] [D] [Em] [G]
(This is our town)
D[C]ear Bradenton
As I ge[D]ntly close my eyes
I h[Em]ear you whisper softly
As we cont[G]inue our goodbyes
And a[C]ll I ask is that you'll be th[D]ere
(possible Em)
When I return
The line "When I return" in my mind has always been a vocal solo line, so I haven't
a chord to play while singing that particular line, but in the case of the very final
of "When I return" you could play an Em, just to make it sound finished, but personally
think it sounds better leaving the D to fade away ^.^
