Ok this is one of my favorite songs by Kasabian and the other version on
this site didn't do it justice, so... here's my attempt.
The two chords used are A5 and F (though in the live version he plays an Am
instead of A5 where the riff would normally be, but I think the A5 works better in whole).
e|[A5]---| |[F]-x-|
B|-x-| |-1-|
G|-2-| |-2-|
D|-2-| |-3-|
A|-0-| |---|
Intro/Verse
[A5] [F]
He uses a delay pedal, but since I don't have one, this is the general
pattern. It sounds good to hit the notes in parenthesis occasionally when
you're doing a solo guitar, or you could just strait up play the chords.
Riff (sounds good with lots of reverb and some flange)
He doesn't actually play the 1st fret on the E string but I like to use it
to keep the song in key while playing solo.
And no... I didn't have the patience to work out the synth 'solo', but I'm
fairly certain it's more or less an improv around Am pentatonic if you wanna have a go
Lastly! there's a little modified progression right after the synth solo
and right after the final chorus which goes:
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Try not to make no sound
[F]When two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Tryin not to make no sound when
[F]Two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
(riff)x2
[A5]I take down what I need, [A5]Cuz you know I need to breathe
[F]I'm tired of walking on another plane, [F]Another plane cuz I feel insane, I...
[A5]Step back to get to you, [A5]Cut back I'm fallin through
[F]Another day I feel the same, [F]I'm cutting and I'm bleeding here with you
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Try not to make no sound
[F]When two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Tryin not to make no sound when
[F]Two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
(synth solo)
(modified progression)
(riff)
[A5]So keep those voices down, [A5]Even if you dont make no sound
[F]A thousand voices makin all the mistakes, [F]The fire escapes and this code must break
[A5]I... Step back to get to you, [A5]Cut back I'm fallin through
[F]Another day I feel the same, [F]I'm cuttting and I'm bleeding here with you
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Try not to make no sound
[F]When two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
[A5]All lyin across the ground, [A5]Tryin not to make no sound when
[F]Two men goin break ya down, I said, [F]Two men goin break ya down, I break
(modified progression)x2
(riff)x2
That's it so enjoy! And comments are always appreciated!
