I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous - Frank Turner
---------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by James Oliver ([email protected])
I don't think the chords are quite this straight forward, and I'm yet to see Frank play
to know what he's actually doing. But for now, these chords work, and I shall update it
I have seen what is actually played. I decided to work out the chords because I have not
them anywhere on the internet, and that is a shame because "I Knew Prufrock..." is
Turner at his briliant best! Email me if you have any suggestions for changes to chords etc.
[C]Let's begin at the beginning
[Am]We're lovers and we're losers
[G]Heroes and we're pioneers
[F]We're beggars and we're choosers
[D]Skirting round the edges of the i[E]deal demographic
[D]We're almost on the guest list
[C]We're always stuck in traffic
[C]We've watched our close associates
[A]Often play their parts
[G]Chatting up the it girls
[F]And they're tearing up the charts
[D]While we were playing with coppers to get our [E]rounds in at the bar
[D]We're the C team with the the almost famous o[C]ld friends of the stars
[C]Justin is the last g[Am]reat romantic poet
[G]He's the only one among us who is e[F]ver gonna make it
[D]We planned the revolution from a c[E]heap Southampton bistro
[D]I don't remember details, but there were [C]English boys with Banjos
[C]Jay is our St George and he's standing [Am]on a wooden chair
[G]And he sings songs and he slays dragons and he's[F] losing all his hair
[D]And Adam is the resurrected [E]spirit of Gram Parsons
[D]In blood instead of Rhinestone and [C]living in South London
And n[E]o one's really clear about [F]Tommy's job description
But it's [D]pretty clear he's vital to the [C]whole damn operation
And Dave [D]Danger smiles at strangers, Tre's the [E]safest the girl I know
And [D]Zo and Harps will scamper off to victory in the [C]City we call home
And we won't change are [C]ways
We will proud rem[G]ain, when the glory [F]fades, when the glory fades
Yeah I am [C]sick and tired of people who are [Am]living on the b-list
Yeah they're [G]waiting to be famous, and they're [F]wondering why they do this
And I [D]know I'm not the one who it [E]habitually optimistic
But I'm the [D]one who's got the microphone here so [C]just remember this
Well [C]life is about love, lost [Am]minutes and lost evening
About [G]fire in our bellies and about [F]furtive little feelings
And the [D]aching amplitudes that set our [E]needles all flickering
And they [D]help us with remembering that the [C]only that's thing left to do is live
After all the [Am]loving and losing, after all the [G]heroes and the pioneers
[F]The only thing that's left to do is [G]get another round in at the [C]bar.
