[G]Paris isn't that ro[Am]mantic
[C]If you don't have any [Am]money
[G]Those cafes aren't so [Am]cute to walk by
[C]When you're [Am]hungry
[G]Our campground on the [Am]outskirts of town
Was [C]all we could afford to [Am]do
We [G]were so sick of bein' in the [Am]big cities
And [C]this one seemed so [Am]rude, rude, rude
[G]We mailed home all our [Am]huge rolls of film
And all the [G]change that we couldn't [Am]use
We [G]bumped into some girls that we [Am]knew from Texas
Saw the [G]Mona Lisa, her smile [Am]seemed so cruel
And we [Am]used our last ticket to take the train
To a [C]boat on the coast that would take us away
To a [G]place that we hoped
Would be the end of our [F]sorrows
When we [Am]got there we were way too late
There was [C]no way we could leave that day
We would [G]have to find a place to stay
And [F]try again tomorrow
[Am]We found a secret place to crash
In a [C]bush by the docks
That was filled with trash
We [G]cleared a spot and we called it a [F]day
And I [Am]wished that I brought my guitar
As I [C]looked through the bush
Up at the stars
[G]Fell asleep and got woke up by the [F]rain
We [C]waited on the porch for the [G]doors to open
And we [Am]asked the guy if there was any reason hopin'
He [C]said, "Don't give [G]up,
Cross your [Am]fingers, wish for luck"
So I [C]cast my spells and I made my [G]curses
[Am]Wishin' that a truck would get stuck
And then [C]we could take their [G]place,
And leave France that [Am]day.
