"Does Anybody Hear Her?"
- Casting Crowns
Capo 1 (Key of F)
Verse 1:
[E]She is running[B] a hundred miles an [C#m]hour [B]in the wrong dire[A]ction
[E]She is trying [B]but the canyon's ever wi[C#m]dening in the de[B]pths of her cold[A] heart
So she s[B]ets out on ano[E]ther misad[A]venture just to find,
She's ano[B]ther two years ol[E]der and she's th[A]ree more steps behind
Chorus:
Does anybody h[E]ear her? Can anybody s[B]ee?
Or does anybody [C#m]even know s[B]he's going down to[A]day?
Under the shadows of our ste[E]eple with all the lost and lonely pe[B]ople,
Searching for the [C#m]hope that's tucked a[B]way in you and [A]me
Does anybody [F#m]hear her? Can anybody s[A]ee?
Verse 2:
[E]She is yearning [B]for shelter and aff[C#m]ection that she ne[B]ver found at h[A]ome
[E]She is searching [B]for a hero to ride[C#m] in, to ride [B]in and save the d[A]ay
?An[B]d in walks her Prince C[E]harming and he [A]knows just what to say
Moment[B]ary lapse of re[E]ason and she gi[A]ves herself away
Bridge:
If ju[C#m]dgment looms under every steeple, if lo[A]fty glances from lofty people,
[E]Can't see past her scarlet letter a[B]nd we never even met her (x2)
[C#m] [A] [E] [B]
Outro:
[E]He is running [B]a hundred miles an [C#m]hour [B]in the wrong dire[A]ction?
There's only five chords to the song, and because the chords are in the key of E
I have alternate chords to make it easier for those who are "Barre Challenged".
E is the only chord that is normal. The idea is to keep the B & E strings (1 & 2) open.
So for the F#m you will have to stretch your middle finger towards the head of the
guitar a bit so you can hit the note on the G string. A, B, and C#m are basically
power chords.

This is honestly my first tab... posted online. I couldn't believe how many times people
have tried this song and yet still hadn't gotten it close to right, so I finally got
the nerve to register and post my own. Blessings, and remember to brush up on your
music theory!
