HORSLIPS - DEARG DOOM
Album - The Tin
Guitarist- Johnny Fean
Tabbed by Owen Hickie,
The music to this, the ultimate Irish Rock song, is actually based on a traditonal Irish
called O'Neill's March.
I won't pretend this is the exact version of the song, but its close enough to get away
on a Friday night gig. Listen to the record to get the exact timing and order of the
parts
COME BACK HORSLIPS!!!
Standard Tuning: (EADGBe)
MAIN RIFF/INTRO
RIFF
CHORUS RIFF
PRESOLO
The murky bit. My musical ear isn't nearly good enough to tab this properly, but play
chords and it will do.
And as it happens, from glimpsing Fean playing on Ardn on TG4, this is near enough to
he was playing. Play
with the normal open string chords if you prefer, rather than bar-chords, its just my
doesn't like open
string chords that much :P
[D] [A] [D] [A]
"....and when the stars go out, you can hear me shout"
[D] [C] [A] [G]
"....two heads are better than one, a hundred heads are so much better.."
[F] [G] [A] [Bb] [C] [D]
"...than one"
Dunno about the solo. there's uileann pipes or something going on in the backround. Its
pity Johnny didn't throw in a 4
minuter here like at the start of the song on the Belfast gigs.
AFTERSOLO
Same as above until-
[F]
"...than one"
Hold this. There's some more picking up round the 12th fret. Then its back to riff 1,
there's 2 guitars or
something here on the cd, so i play this to make things interesting:
Back to Riff 2;
>Then the Main Riff;
>then Chorus.
END
Repeat till closing time :D
