Song: Couldn't get it right
Tabbed by: DJ
18th June 2013
Tuning: Standard
CAPO:2nd fret (Sounds in key of Bm)
A simpler way to play it on acoustic guitar.
There's a couple of quick jazzy chords, but, if you use the shapes shown
at the bottom of the page, they're relatively easy, just use the
index finger to barre the top three strings on both chords.

[Am] Time was drift - [A4]in', this r[Am]ock had got to [Am]roll,[G][F]
^ ^ ^
So I hit the road, and made my ge[Am]taway, [Abmaj7b5] /_/ [Bbm7]/_/
^ ^ ^ ^
[Am] Restless feel - [A4]in'... r[Am]eally gotta h[Am]old,[G][F]
^ ^^ ^
I started searching for a be[D]tter w[D]ay!
^ ^
And I k[C]ept on looking for a s[G]ign in the middle of the n[Dm]ight,
But I couldn't see the l[Dm]ight, [Em]^ ^ [F]^ no, I couldn't see the li[C]ght,[G]
I k[C]ept on lookin' for a w[G]ay to take me through the n[Dm]ight---,
Co[Em]uldn't get it r[Bb]ight, I couldn't get it ri[D]ght!

But, I must admit, it got the b[Am]est of me, [Abmaj7b5] /_/ [Bbm7] /_/
^ ^ ^ ^
[Am] Gettin' down,[A4] so d[Am]eep I could've dr[Am]owned,[Am][G][F]

Now I can't get back the way I u[D]sed to [D]be!

But I couldn't see the l[Dm]ight,[Em] [F] no, I couldn't see the li[C]ght, [G]

(Suggestion for coda, gradually slowing down overlast two bars)

Chord shapes are relative to capo position:
Am x02210 or 577555 Abmaj7b5 xx0113 Dm xx0231
A4 x02230 or 577755 Bbm7 xx0111 Em 022000
G 355433 D xx0232 Bb x13331
F 133211 C x32010
At the end of the choruses the bass does an octave rundown.
Playing in Am you can't get that bottom D without detuning
your 6th string, but this riff is close enough:
[D]
E |--2--------2------|
B |--3--------3------|
G |--2--------2------|
D |--0--------0------|
A |-----3--0---------|
E |------------------|
If you're playing without a capo, in Bm, then you can get the full bass riff:
[E]
E |--0---------------|
B |--0---------------|
G |--1---------------|
D |--2--0------------|
A |--2-----2---------|
E |--0--------0------|
