The Fountainhead
by The Bluetones
Tabbed by Frederic Maquet (f.maquet@ic.ac.uk)
This is another great song of the "Expecting to Fly" album. If you like
it, email me and tell me about it with corrections/comments...
I hope the intro is accurate enough, but it sounds good! The whole song
is played with two guitars, but you can survive with just one! The
rythm is
a bit hard though, so you'll have to listen to the song to get it right.

Intro/Verse:
[Em7E] [E] [Esus4] [E] [Am-] [Am] [G] [A]
(slow)
Esus bit again Am- Am D5 A
Verse 1: (play with 1st intro riff)
[Em7]God [E]knows I've [Esus]tried[E], to [Am-]bridg[Am]e the gap,
I've [G]tried to be [A]me,
And t[Em7]ime a[E]fter time I've [Esus]lied,[E] just to [Am-]say t[Am]he things,
You [G]wanted to [A]hear,
Em7 E Esus E Am Am7 Am (Am7 is x02213)
Look, look what I've done, look what I do,
I'm [G]starting to [A]pull myself [E]through, [Em7][E]
Hell could [Esus]feasib[E]ly freeze, but [Am-]in yo[Am]ur eyes, I'll [G]alw[A]ays [D]be...
Chorus 1:
The [F#]Fountainhead, the [G]boy whose thoughts keep [A]running away[D]
F# G A (play this A as x0222x)
And you know I'm riiight.
Verse 2: (same chord progression as verse 1)
[Em7]Wasn[E]'t it you who [Esus]said,[E] I went [Am-]looki[Am]ng, to [G]open the [A]eyes of my [E]head
And now I can see, from your mistakes, you're as blind as me
God knows I try, God know I've tried, to be something more than I am
Hell could feasibly freeze, but in your eyes I'll always be...
Chorus 2:
Same as Chorus 1
Break: Plays basic riff, with lots of bass.
Verse 3: (The whole thing is played with the 1st intro riff)
[Em7]What can I[E] say without [Esus]being p[E]rofound,
It's a [Am-]game t[Am]hat we play, goes [G]round and [A]round
I shall [Em7]stick t[E]o the rules and I [Esus]won't stop a [E]fool
And I [Am-]won't be d[Am]efied and I [G]won't lose my [A]cool,
Can't you [Em7]see what[E] I've done can't you [Esus]see what I [E]do?
It's not [Am-]really[Am] unique but it's [G]hopelessly [A]cruel,
These ar[Em7]e my dec[E]isions these [Esus]are my [E]mistakes
G A (single strum)
And I'll fall down again if that what it takes...
