This is my version of a great song by a cool band, Goldfinger. I'm pretty
sure about most of it, but let me know if you have any suggestions,
changes, etc.
Intro: (played in the order given and with ska upstrokes)
[D] [A] [Em] [Bm] [Em] [F#m] [Em]
(Play this 1st time only. After this, play A in place of riff)
The second time this is played, I believe a second guitar comes in with
the bass playing these barre chords, and it gets louder as the
progression goes on:
[D] [A] [E] [B] [E] [F#] [G] [A]
(Play this while 1st guitar keeps playing the ska progression)
[D]So here I [A]am, doing [E]everything I [B]can. Holding [E]on to what I
[F#]am, pretending [G]I'm a superm[A]an.
(Verse:)(ska upstrokes)
[D]I'm trying to [A]keep [Em]the ground on my [Bm]feet.
It [G]seems the world's [D]falling down [A]around me.
[D]The nights are all [A]long, [Em]I'm singing this [Bm]song
to [G]try and make the [D]answers more than [A]maybe.
(This part uses barre chords:)
And I'm [G]so [D]con-[A]fused, about [G]what [E]to [D]do, some[G]times I wanna
[A]throw it all away[D].
[D]So here I [A]am, looking [Em]older all the [Bm]time. Growing [Em]older
all the [F#m]time, feeling [Em]younger in my [A]mind.
[D]I'm trying to [A]sleep.[Em] I lost count of [Bm]sheep.
My [G]mind is racing [D]faster every [A]minute. [D] What could
I do [A]more?[Em] Yeah I'm really not [Bm]sure. I[G] know I'm
running [D]circles but I [A]can't quit.
And I'm [G]so [D]con[A]fused about [G]what [E]to [D]do.
Some[G]times I want to [A]throw it all away.
(Bridge, using these chords:)
[Am] [Em] [Bm]
[Am]Controlling everything in [Bm]sight, I'm feeling weak I don't
feel [Em]right. You're telling me I have to [Am]change, telling[Bm] me
to act my [Em]age. But if all that I can [Am]do is just [Bm]sit and
watch time [Em]go, then I'll have to say goodbye.[Am] Life's too
[Bm]short to watch it [Em]fly, so watch it [Hi]fly[F]yyyyyyy[Hi]yy.[G]
Solo:
This is played twice, and that's the song!
E-mail me with any complaints, compliments, or anything in between.
Thanks, and I hope you like the tab!
