Song: Something On
Band: The Tragically Hip
Album: Phantom Power
Label: Universal Music Canada
Written By: The Tragically Hip
Chorded By: ultimatelefty
Definitely one of my favourite songs by The Hip, and I was surprised
to not already see anything on here! So I decided to chord it out, though
I wasn't quite sure if some of the chords were fifths or barres, so I have
most of them listed as fifths in the song, but in the chord section up here
at the top I wrote out the barred variations of the chords, so you can play it
however you want! Anyways, please rate, comment, and enjoy!
Standard Tuning

Intro: D5 C5 F (x3)
[F]Your imaginations having puppies
It could be a video for new recruits
Just stare into the camera
And pretend that [D5]you [C5]got the [A#5]flu
Or dreams of im[D5]possible [C5]vacati[A#5]ons
And get all [D5]teary [C5]from the [A#5]wind
Look as though you're st[D5]anding at [C5]the station[A#5]
Long after the train [D5]came [C5]in [F]
And see how [G5]the space tautens [A#5]
Like there's some[D5]thing[C5] on [F]
And you're ne[G5]ver more hot then [A#5]
When you've got some[D5]thing[C5] on [F]
[F]Picture a century of water
Bury the pipeline guy right here
Kill the dream of possible vacations
With the sweep of a m[D5]appin[C5]g pione[A#5]er
Outside there's hec[D5]tic [C5]action[A#5]
The ice is c[D5]overi[C5]ng the t[A#5]rees
And one of em's in[D5]terc[C5]onnecting[A#5]
With my che[D5]vrol[C5]et capr[F]ice
Black out to p[G5]hantom power [A#5]
And like there's n[D5]othi[C5]ng on [F]
And hammer[G5]ing the tower [A#5]
And now there's nothing on
Break (Listen to song for timing):
[G#5] [F] [G#5] [G5] [A#5]
[G#5]We'll ride the monorail [F]
Rocking gently home [G#5]on the trail [G5]
You wanna to [A#5]show me the moon [F]
[F]I know you're standing at the station
I know there's nothing on
I know the alienation
I know the train's long gone
[F]I can see how [G5]your face tautens [A#5]
Like you've got some[D5]thin[C5]g on [F]
It makes me [G5]feel just rotten [A#5]
But you've got some[D5]thin[C5]g on[F]
