Can you not [C]see what you've [Em]done?
You [F]gave your heart a[G]way like that.
I didn't [C]want to fall in [Em]love,
with [F]anyone but you, [G]dear.
I can still [C]hear the [Em]song,
the m[F]elody be[G]hind the kiss,
you [C]gave me, you were [Em]wrong,
I was [F]right so I walked a[G]way,
and left you [C]there, a[Em]lone,
I g[F]ot so tired of [G]talking on the
[C]tele[Em]phone,
how [F]many times would we [G]say the words, "Good bye?"
RIFF
I made [C]mistakes, and [Em]one,
was t[F]elling you that [G]I'd be there when
[C]telling time (?) had [Em]come,
I [F]should have said I didn't[G] care.
All the [C]time I would have [Em]saved,
If [F]I had been less [G]willing
to ac[C]comm[Em]odate,
you'd [F]been a littl[G]e less likely to cry.
RIFF
[Am]You go back to the [G]high life,
and [Am]I'll go back to the [G]low.
[F]I should have known,
[G]But now I know.
There'll be no [C]word from [Em]you,
des[F]cribing how it [G]felt to go through
[C]what I put you [Em]through
It a[F]ll makes perfect [G]sense
the way you [C]cut the [Em]rope
that [F]kept you dangling [G]from such
pitif[C]ul amounts of [Em]hope,
[F]I would have cut it, [G]too.
RIFF
I'm not much of a tab reader, I go by chords and embellish off of them. Hold the C chord
down, then pluck the A string (third fret) twice, followed by the D (second fret) once,
then the open G string, then G string, second fret (with your middle finger). Then do
the same thing in reverse, adding an optional pull-of on the D string.
End on C.
