Hey there; been a while. Here's a terrific Sparklehorse tune for you, that I can't
believe hasn't been tabbed yet. The song itself is recorded on a slightly overdriven /
compressed acoustic guitar, but you can strum this out cleanly and it still sounds wonderful:
Intro: E G D Am
Every other A-Minor chord, Mark does a little riff like this:
Verse:
[E]Once I was a [G]big old bear
[D]Reigning blows on [Am]sparkly snares
[E]In the woods af[G]ter the snow
[D]The white noise witch her [Am]hammers cold
[E]Rest beneath the [G]pine and rose
[G]In our suits and [D]Sunday clothes
Chorus:
[C]Cheer [G]up my [C]brother[D]
[C]It's gonna [G]be al[C]-right[D]
All the instruments cut out, save for this guitar riff:
[Am] I know your [G]hearts are heavy as[C] mountains[D]
[Am] We're gonna [G]go back home one[D] day
Verse - Chorus - Verse - Fuzz/Tinkle out...
There are a few flourishes on the guitar, some lazy hammer-ons here and
there. They aren't hard to pick up. Make it your own, it's a beautiful song.
Thanks for reading!
