[Em] [Am] [B] [D7] [Em] [Em] [Am] [Em] [Am] [Em]
There she st[Em]ood in an empty room, heard a voice from another time,
And the m[Am]emories came r[Em]olling back of L[Bm]eningrad in the w[Em]ar,[Am]
For the g[Em]irl in the photograph, much had changed in the years that passed,
But her l[Am]onging for the b[Em]oy she loved was st[Bm]ill the same since the w[Em]ar,
It was a m[D]oonless night upon the r[G]oad of life, when he'd h[Am]eld her to say goodb[B]ye,
Many m[Em]ore would survive, for he st[Am]ayed behind to h[B]elp them live ag[Em]ain,[Am][Em][Am][Em][Am][B]
When they m[Em]et at the garden gate, tears would fall from a deep embrace,
For she n[Am]ever knew what h[Em]appened to the b[Bm]oy she loved in the w[Em]ar,
Back in those h[D]appy days, before the s[G]oldiers came, to br[Am]eak down the ones who rem[B]ained,
And they [Em]only survived, who could l[Am]earn to die, and l[B]ive to fight ag[Em]ain,[Am][Em]
Oh Leningr[Em]ad...
Oh Leningr[Am]ad..[Em].[Am][Em][B]
There they st[Em]ood in an empty room, heard a voice from another time,
And their m[Am]emories came r[Em]olling back of L[Bm]eningrad in the w[Em]ar.
