Here Comes That Rainbow Again
written by Kris Kristofferson
INTRO: D Dsus2 D Dsus2 D Dsus2 D Dsus2
The sc[D]ene was a small roadside [Dsus2]caffe, the [D]waitress was sweepin' the f[A]loor
Two truckdrivers drinkin' their coffee, 2 Oakie kids by the [D]door
How much are them candies they as[Dsus2]ked her, how m[D]uch have you got she repl[A]ied
We've only a penny between us, them's 2 for a penny she [D]lied
CHORUS:
And the d[G]aylight grew heavy with thu[D]nder
With the sm[A]ell of the rain on the w[Dsus2]ind
[G] Ain't it just like a h[D]uman
[A]Here comes that rainbow a[D]gain
(KEY CHANGE TO E)
One tr[E]uckdriver called to the waitress after the kids went ou[B7]tside
Them candies ain't 2 for a penny, so what's it to you she r[E]eplied
In silence they finished their coffee, then got up and nodded goo[B7]dbye
She called hey you left too much money, so what's it to you they r[E]eplied
CHORUS:
And the day[A]light was heavy with t[E]hunder
With the sm[B7]ell of the rain on the w[E]ind
[A] Ain't it just like a hu[E]man
[B7]Here comes that rainbow ag[E]ain
NOTE: Most of the tabs I've seen for this have it in G, then changing to A. This sounds
good, but it doesn't match the recording I used (he recorded it several times, and at least
one of them I'm sure is a different key). If you want to play it in G and A (it's easier
for me to sing, I know), then use these chords:
FIRST HALF:
DG
AD
GC
SECOND HALF:
EA
B7E
AD
