The Trash Can Sinatras
Drunken Chorus
----------------------
Intro - G D Am C D G Am C D (let ring...)
[G]I'm looking on th[Am]e bright side, [C]but I still don't see [D]the light
[G]Why are friends s[Am]o hard to find [C]on Wednesday [D]night?
[G]I got a ten pound note in m[Am]y pocket, that'll[C] never find its wa[D]y back home.
[G]And you thought I'd be lone[C]ly when you'd gone[G].
[G]Discipline is a sh[Am]elter, [C]the punishment'[D]s my home
[G]Built on[Am] sticks and stones and n[C]ow britt[D]le bones
[G]I'm just[Am] a slip of a thing [C]and now I'm o[D]n the slide
[G]And I get so con[C]fused on my own[G][C-D-Am]
[Am]Barmaids[C] beware[G]
[Am]Sweet-stout sty[C]le and whiskey-drunk flair[G][D]
CHORUS
[G]I'm drinking the[Bm] wishing well dr[C]y, and collectin[D]g the coins
[G]And my cup's bri[C]mming over with [D]bliss
[G]Seems that when [Bm]my throat gets d[C]ry my words get [Am]wry
[G]And I raise my g[C]lass lik[D]e a fist, and every si[G]p's a kiss
You used to say my secrets were safe, and that I had no need to lock them
away
But I could kick myself to death for leaving you the key, and now I know
what security means to me
Hard to get a hold of what it means to me
And it's hard to get out of the gutter when it's raining feet and every
helping hand's a fist
CHORUS
SOLO (I know it starts on Am, I think it's:: Am C G, Am C G D, C
G C G C Am C D.....)
G G
But hey where will I go, and now that you have gone........
Ending: G - Bm - G
G - For the end, I switch back and forth on a barred G from regular to
335533, which sounds great.
There it is. The intro is wrong, I just put what I like to play. Really
fun to play around with a slide on
this, and two people make it even more fun. I usually play the chords
barred during the chrous; it leaves
the refrain twangy, and keeps the chorus full. Any probelms?
