I love this song. It's fairly simple. The most obvious way to play it is by putting a
on the 1st fret and playing D, A, A7, D, D, D7, Em, E, E7, etc. But I lost my capo.. so
the barre version.
It also has a wonderful dooo-dooo-dooo doodoodoo thing going on between verses and in
beginning.. as in:
E|------6-----6-----6--------|
B|------8-----8-----8--------|
G|------8-----8-----8--------|
D|---------------------------|
A|---6-----5---------------5-|
E|---------------8-----6-8---|
Verse 1
I [D#]always play Russian [Bb]Roulette in my head
[Bb7]Seventeen black and [D#]twenty-nine red
How [D#]far from the [D#7]gutter
How far from the [Fm]pew
I'll [F]always re[F7]member to for[Bb]get about [Bb7]you
Chorus
[D#]A good man is hard to fi[C]nd
Only [Fm]strangers sleep in my [Bb]bed
My [D#]favorite words are good-[C7]bye
And my [Fm]favorite [Bb]color is [D#]red
Verse 2
A long dead soldier looks out
From the frame
No one remembers his war; no one
Remembers his name
Verse 3
Go out to the meadow;
Scare off all the crows
It does nothing but rain here,
And nothing will grow
Chorus
A good man is hard to find
Only strangers sleep in my bed
My favorite words are good-bye
And my favorite color is
[Fm]my favorite color [Bb]is
[Fm]my favorite [Bb]color is [D#]red
